Final Animatic

From our research we have combined a variety of inspirations together from our mood boards and ideas page to create an Animatic of our trailer. Now we know what we are filming we are going to look into the different trailers and posters to see how our special effects are similar to some horror films and how we can make it realistic and achievable. We have looked into horror films such as Smiley and The Thing to create inspiration for our own special effects that we are going to make. Smiley was the inspiration for the choice of weapon, and how we created a killer with unique facial characteristics that are scary to the audience. The poster of the The Thing inspired us with the idea of a normal setting that is changed by the overall scary character element, which we have included in our Animatic trailer as well at the very end. This was to build up tension to the audience in a variety of ways by only seeing elements of the killings without the horror element added to it just yet, a cliche of a teaser trailer. This would then be effective in making people want to see it in cinemas. The lightining bolt on the teaser trailer of the Thing is the inspiration for the way our killer appears on screen. This is also effective because the flashing light doesn't reveal the killers face entirely, which leaves an enigma to the audience of what the killer actually looks like.
